EDUCATION INFORMATION & REFERRAL - providing information and/or referral to any service available from DPCAA or within the community with regard to employment issues.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES - are purchased for basic supplies required by the school. Required items and dollar amounts provided vary and are based on grade level and school list when available. School age youth who are not eligible for any other school supply programs available through the schools.
INCOME MANAGEMENT INFORMATION & REFERRAL - providing information and/or referral to any services available from DPCAA or within the community with regard to better utilization of income and resources.
VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE (VITA) - provides a site location for the completion of income tax return free of charge for income eligible households.
HOME WEATHERIZATION - a program that assists low income individuals/families lower energy costs by providing energy conservation measures to their residence, as well as insuring they have a safe and healthy living environment. For those at or below 200%(DOE) or 150%(LIHEAP) poverty level.
WEATHERIZATION - COOLING PROGRAM - a program to provide a cooled area in the residence for low income individuals who have a medical need or over the age of 60. Must qualify for LIHEAP/fuel assistance program through county social services and have a documented medical need or are over age 60.
WEATHERIZATION - COOLING & FURNACE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT - provides assistance to low income households to offset the cost of repair or replacement of furnaces/hot water heaters that are not operating or are a health risk. Must qualify for LIHEAP/fuel assistance program through county social services and own their home.
MONEY MANAGEMENT - provides assistance for households to develop a monthly spending plan and promotes the habit of saving and planning for future financial needs.
REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE SERVICE - DPCAA staff appointed by Social Security Administration to manage the Social Security or SSI benefits of those who are unable to take care of it for themselves. Client must receive Social Security or SSI benefits.
CLOTHES GIVEAWAY - DPCAA collaborates with other community service providers to hold a bi-annual clothes giveaway. Good used clothing donations are solicited and made available to those in need. Open to the public.
"SAVING OUR CENTS" INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNTS - a matched savings account to help low income individuals save toward a goal of homeownership, continued education or small business. For every dollar a participant contributes they are matched with a two dollar contribution. Housing

HOME BUYER EDUCATION -a program to educate potential homebuyers about buying vs. renting, the process of applying for a home loan, your credit report, shopping for and inspecting a potential a home. Home buyer education is available for income eligible individuals year round as a home study course. Home study course income eligibility at or below 125% of poverty level.
HELPING HAND GRANT - funds used in conjunction with weatherization funds to cover costs when there are areas of concern in the household that can't be covered with weatherization funding. At or below 150% poverty level and currently being weatherized.
HOME REHABILITATION PROGRAM - funds provided by a federal grant; the program is designed to rehabilitate homes of low to moderate income households; homes are brought up to housing quality standards for health & safety issues. For those at or below 80% median county income.
CHDO/HOUSING PROGRAMS - projects to develop safe and affordable housing for low income households for those at or below 80% median county income.
EMERGENCY INFORMATION & REFERRAL - providing information and/or referral to any services available from DPCAA or within the community to help resolve a household emergency situation.
EMERGENCY RENT/MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE - financial assistance with first month's rent when homeless or past due rent or mortgage payment where household is faced with an eviction. Help with a percentage of one month's rent amount is generally provided and household is responsible for a percentage also. Must be homeless or faced with eviction, have resources to pay ongoing living expenses and be at or below 125% poverty level.
EMERGENCY DEPOSIT ASSISTANCE - these HOME dollars will be used in emergency situations to prevent homelessness or to assist persons in transitional housing to secure permanent rental housing. Funds may also be used to assist low income families in securing a more affordable rental unit. Funds will be used only for security or utility deposits, or an approved TBRA program
EMERGENCY TEMPORARY SHELTER - Short term temporary shelter provided in emergency situations on a limited basis.
EMERGENCY ENERGY SUPPORT - Various programs available to help with emergency payment of a past due utility to prevent eviction or homelessness. Most grants allow for help with one month's bill for a specific utility. Income eligibility varies for different grants/programs used to provide utility assistance.
EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE - One-time emergency transportation provided in the form of a voucher for gas. Gas assistance requires valid driver's license & verification of needing assistance.
PERSONAL/HOUSEHOLD ITEMS - personal and household items, such as dishes, kettles, bedding, towels & furniture are provided on a first come first serve basis to households in need. Availability of items is dependent on donations from the public.
NUTRITION INFORMATION & REFERRAL -providing information and/or referral to any nutritional services available from DPCAA or within the community.
TEMPORARY EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - distribution of surplus USDA commodity foods through the food pantry on an emergency as needed basis. Participation priority is given to elderly and disabled individuals. This program is offered for those at or below 200% federal poverty level. (Rolla Office only)
FOOD PANTRY - assistance provided with a food basket to help meet household emergency food needs. (Rolla Office only)
FOOD PANTRY SUPPORT - financial support to food pantries within the DPCAA service area. Generally is provided in the form of a credit available for them to purchase food items at Great Plains Food Bank. Food pantry must be located within Region III.
SPORTSMEN AGAINST HUNGER - The donation of venison, Canadian geese, and Snow geese for processing and distribution through agency operated and supported food pantries as part of emergency food baskets. Processing is done utilizing donated funds and must be done in a USDA approved facility in adherence to strict processing guidelines. Processed meat is distributed to food pantries within Region III.
HOLIDAY FOOD BASKETS - food baskets provided to help households with extra expenses of holiday meals generally at Thanksgiving & Christmas. (Rolla Office only)
LINKAGES INFORMATION & REFERRAL - providing information and/or referral to any services beneficial to low income households, available within the community.
LOCAL/STATE NEEDS ASSESSMENT - needs assessment survey of low income clientele and service agencies within Region III; designed to determine the needs of low income population within our service area and used as a tool for program planning; regional results are combined for a statewide report
TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE - emergency transportation assistance provided for educational or employment related needs
HOLIDAY PROJECTS - DPCAA staff coordinate community donations of gifts to deserving children at Christmas; activities are coordinated with community projects and agencies to avoid duplication of services
