Shelter Assistance
DPCAA provides a wide range of shelter assistance. Shelter assistance provided by DPCAA includes the following:
Shelter assistance is provided based on the needs of those requesting aid and their income eligibility for the assistance.
To receive shelter assistance for first month's rent, overdue rent or overdue mortgage payment the individual or household must provide documentation of hardship (i.e. medical bills, car repair bills) and meet the existing income guidelines. Assistance is limited to the lesser of $250 or 75% of total costs. This type of assistance is provided one (1) time.
Depending on funding security and utility deposits may be available to eligible households.
Those with HIV can be assisted by agency staff to obtain shelther assistance through the Shelther Plus Care and/or Tri-State Help programs.
