Dave Gutterud

Dave has been involved in the environmental industry since 1984 when he began work with the one of the nation's largest hazardous materials remediation contractors. Starting as a laborer during college summer breaks, he quickly worked his way up to project superintendent where he had primary responsibility for multi-million dollar remediation projects. His six years in the remediation industry included asbestos abatement project supervision, microbial abatement project supervision, project estimation and design, administration, employee training and job tracking. Normal assignments included high profile or highly sensitive projects within hospitals, office buildings and schools although he also has extensive industrial experience including paper processing and power plants.

Since entering the consulting industry, he has been involved in a variety of environmental issues including microbial remediation design, Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM), disaster response services, asbestos and lead detection and removal, indoor air quality investigations, OSHA compliance, health and safety program design and industrial hygiene.

His positions have included Project Manager for Industrial Hygiene and Safety at HWM Technologies, President & Director of Operations for Concept Environmental Services and Director of Operations for AirTech Environmental, Inc. Dave was also instrumental in the startup of two abatement companies. His experience in both the contracting and the consulting fields has given Dave the ability to view projects comprehensively.

Dave is currently associated with a number of training organizations including the Midwest Center for Occupational Health & Safety and the University of North Dakota where he regularly lectures on a variety of topics including indoor air quality, microbiology, mold inspection and remediation, asbestos, lead and occupational safety.
